Your Data Privacy with Cognillo Products
At Cognillo, your privacy and the confidentiality of your content are paramount. Our products are designed to ensure that your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) remains within your organization. We do not automatically share any information belonging to your organization with Cognillo or any third party without your explicit consent.
No personally identifiable information (PII) is shared.
There are specific, limited circumstances under which information might be transmitted outside of your organization:
Anonymous Error Reporting
If a Cognillo application crashes, you have the option to send us an anonymous error report. This requires your explicit consent by clicking "Yes." The data collected helps us improve our products and contains only a stack dump to assist in tracing bugs. It does not include any company/organization content or PII data.
The error submission provides our technical team with:
The product name and version (build) that crashed.
The lines of code that caused the error, which may include values from those lines.
The public IP address of the company.
Online License Activation
When you use Online License Activation, an email address can be entered. This email address is used by our license server to identify who is using each license and can be used for usage reports, which we can provide to you.
Alternatively, you can input non-PII data such as random text or a machine (computer) name instead of an email address. This value is solely used to assist with license deactivation, ensuring the correct machine license is deactivated.
Usage reports contain:
(Optional) Email address, provided by the user at the time of license activation.
License Activation date and time(s).
License Deactivation date and time(s).
Exceptions
This policy excludes any information that your organization voluntarily shares at your discretion with our agents or support team for purposes such as procurement, payment, or troubleshooting (e.g., screen sharing, technical logs, reports, screenshots).
